Gala DinnerACM Multimedia 2010 Gala Dinner was held yesterday in Salone dei 500 at Palazzo Vecchio. It was a wonderful night in a beautiful place. During the dinner were also awarded the authors of the best paper, best student paper and best demos.

Mubarak ShahDr. Mubarak Shah held today his keynote speech Visual Crowd Surveillance is Like Hydrodynamics. Dr. Mubarak showed novel methods for segmentation of flows in crowd videos at a macroscopic level, and to track individuals, detect and localize abnormal behaviors using social force model at a microscopic level.

Duncan described, in particular, several interesting experiments concerning the measurement problems of collective behavior and focused on how the study of social networks can overcome this limitation.

All these young and talented students also received the ACMMM2010 t-shirt, created by the interaction design lab staff at MICC, in order to be recognizable by all the conference attendees.
