Each paper (oral or poster or demo) appearing in the ACM MULTIMEDIA 2010 technical program must be presented by an author at the Conference.
Oral Presentations
Each paper in an oral session is allocated 25 minutes. This includes time required for introduction of the speaker, as well as time for questions from the audience. Therefore authors are advised to prepare a 20-minute talk and leave some time for questions at the end.
Each lecture room will be equipped with a computer and a data projector. Files containing the presentations will be distributed to the computer in each room from a central server.
Authors need to copy their presentations to the central server (located in the Slide Room) at least 90′ in advance of the session in which their paper will be presented.
The PCs that will be used for presentations are equipped with Microsoft Windows 7, Office 2007, Office 2010 and Acrobat Reader 9.
The formats that are allowed for presentations are Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt/.pptx) and Portable Document Format (.pdf). In both cases, if the authors have a video or an audio file embedded in the presentation we recommend to use a video and audio codec compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint. We suggest to check in the Microsoft compatibility page (Compatible multimedia file formats) if the formats are supported.
All presentations will be tested by our technical staff at the Slide Room before the deployment.
Authors needing any special audio or visual equipment must contact the Local Arrangement Chair Stefano Berretti by October 10, 2010 to indicate their request.
Presenters are requested to:
- be present at the podium (in the correct room) at least 10 minutes before the start of their session. Oral presenters should introduce themselves to the session chair as soon as they arrive.
- let the session chair know of any special assistance during their talk before the session.
Poster, Demo and Industry Exhibit Presentations
Each paper in a poster session will be provided with a board that can hold a poster up to 100 cm width x 250 cm length (3.2 ft x 8.2 ft). Adhesive material will be provided for mounting the posters to the boards. A presenting author is expected to be available in front of the poster for the entire duration of the poster session. There will be no summaries given at the start of the poster or demo sessions, so authors do not need to prepare any slides.
Each paper in a demo session will be provided with a board that can hold a poster up to 100 cm width x 250 cm length (3.2 ft x 8.2 ft). Adhesive material will be provided for mounting the posters to the boards. A desk of approx. 80 cm width x 120 cm length will be provided to hold a computer or any other equipment needed for the demo.
A presenting author is expected to be available at the desk or in front of the poster for the entire duration of the demo/poster session. There will be no summaries given at the start of the poster or demo sessions, so authors do not need to prepare any slide.
